Run the DCAM ACL Fix Script

12/4/2012

If a DCAM user has access to the MC4 system but cannot access DCAM, an error message will appear, but the DOD Disclaimer will not appear. In most cases, the user groups are out of date in the DCAM file.

To troubleshoot and update users group to the DCAM file, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the MC4 system as an administrator.
  2. Navigate to the following directory: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MHS\DCAM\Data.
  3. Right click on the Dcam.sdf file.
  4. Click Properties.
  5. Click the Security tab.
  6. Under group or usernames the Users group should be present. If not, run the DCAM ACL Fix Script to add to this file.

    • To run the DCAM ACL Fix Script, click Start.
    • In the menu, click Programs then click MC4.
    • Click DCAM ACL Fix Script. A black dialog box will open and close quickly.
  7. This script will be added to the Users group to the DCAM.sdf file so all users can access DCAM when not logged in as an administrator or when CAC is utilized.
  8. All users should now be able to log in to DCAM provided they have access. To verify the fix updated the file properly, double-click the DCAM icon and click on the DOD Disclaimer when it appears. This indicates that the fix processed correctly.
